Volunteers needed to help newly arrived Afghanis settle into Adelaide

The Afghan Emergency Circle was set up to support newly arrived Afghans to settle into Adelaide.  There is a lot to learn when moving into a new country, especially when faced with a different language and culture. We offer assistance in a number of ways from helping people make friends and community connections, finding work, learning to drive, balancing a low budget, setting up internet and mobile phone plans, finding clothes and household goods and so on.

With the many newly arrived Afghan Refugees in past months, we need more people who are able to visit and support people with friendship, day to day problem solving, and local knowledge. By volunteering through the Afghan Emergency Circle you will have access to information on how to assist new arrivals and group support.

Currently, the Afghan Emergency Circle is looking for people to support one family of whom one speaks English, and one single woman without any English. If you would like to volunteer, please email Circle Convenor Monica.
