Ahmed Hakimi is a Geotechnical Engineer who graduated from Adelaide University with the help of Adelaide University’s scholarship program for temporary visa holders, accommodation at Aquinas College, financial support from Circle of Friends, and friendship and support from many in the community.
Near the end of his degree, Ahmad found work at the international engineering firm Aurecon. He has been working on the North-South Corridor ground investigation project. Ahmad’s expertise is in soil analysis.
Ahmad’s journey from Afghanistan to Australia as a teenager, and his experience of schooling, university study, and work, are replete with extraordinary meetings, and both joy and despair. It is a story full of hope, that is sure to inspire.
