Organised by the Forgotten Refugees Support Circle in Brisbane
Join the Circle for an eclectic night of local music (acoustic pop/soul to hazy, ambient drones) for those who long for real connection, supporting refugees. It’s time to get off our screens and gather ’round some beautiful sounds made by local humans.
Francis Kneebone will showcase his new and older original folk/pop/soul music written and recorded over the past 20 years, accompanied by his original animations, and Peter B. Yearns is Andrew Foley (An Heriloom, Grids/Units/Planes) – Laptop/ Synth, processing, and Joel Saunders (Spirit Bunny, A Country Practice) – circuit-bent Casio SK keyboards, tape loops. Harper Walker is an emerging artist with an amazing voice and song craft.

Funds raised will support otherwise destitute Afghan Hazara, Somali, Sudanese, Yemeni refugees (plus a few others). All have fled their war-torn homelands to seek a safe place to resettle. All event proceeds will be channelled through the ‘Forgotten Refugees’ Support Group.
Our work focuses on otherwise destitute refugees – those in Indonesia waiting without work rights or other means of support from family or the diaspora community. This cohort wait, seemingly in the vain for resettlement in a safe third country, whilst their families back at home or elsewhere, eke out a life – often without their prior primary breadwinner.
