Lesley’s Circle

Lesley’s Circle (Circle 113)  was originally called “Suzanne’s Circle” thanks to donations from the Suzanne Elliott Charitable Trust from 2018 to 2020.

For over 20 years Lesley has actively assisted asylum seekers and refugees living in South Australia, both as an independent advocate & friend. She is also a past member of Hills Circle of Friends (Circle 9, 2011 – 2019), a current member of Blackwood Hills Circle of Friends (Circle 7) and a member of the COFA management committee.

This circle provides a wide range of advice and help including:

  • Financial help to pay for daily groceries, phone accounts, utilities, car registrations, petrol, pharmacy accounts, school expenses, kindergarten fees, and interpreting or translation costs.
  • Assistance with reading, explaining, and responding to correspondence from Medicare, Centrelink, Department of Home Affairs, lawyers, courts, speeding fines, insurance claims, rental agreements, medical and hospital letters and appointments, and school enrolments.
  • Medical & Dental – linking people to support.
  • Assistance with bills and medication costs.
  • Advocacy – linking people to networks – other Circles, legal contacts, support agencies.
  • And also attends appointments when invited.

All of the above is totally reliant on donations which are tax-deductible.

Please donate whenever you can manage a single donation or a monthly debit (both tax-deductible) to prevent these, the most powerless people in our country, from further hardships so they can continue to hope that these hard times of endurance will end, and they must keep looking ahead to the arrival of better times.

If you would like to make a donation, please do so through our secure GiveNow page or email Lesley Walker.
