Earlier this year we sent out an appeal to to enable an Afghani mother, Sara (name changed for safety reasons) and her five children to travel to Australia. They had been granted a Humanitarian Visa by the Australian Government, but the cost of travel was beyond the family’s financial means.
We are delighted to report that “Sara” and her family arrived in Adelaide last Friday evening. It was so wonderful to welcome them alongside Sara’s sister.
Thank you to all our wonderful donors who contributed to their airfares. We also thank the Australian Refugee Association who paid for the exit visas from Pakistan as the family had lived in Pakistan for some years without resident visas.
The family now begins another journey learning the English language and how to live in Australia. We wish them all the best in this new venture, thankfully on permanent visas.
