Heartfelt thank you to all our donors

Heartfelt thanks to everyone who has responded so quickly and generously to the recent, urgent appeal by the Rapid Response Circle  (110) to help meet basic living expenses of individuals and families at risk of homelessness, who were hungry and fearful of services being cut off after long extensions of final payment dates and without a clear path to survival.

Your donations have definitely helped the Rapid Response Circle and the people we support to turn around and face forward again. Barring the unexpected, your help should ensure their security  for up to two months, perhaps more.

Hopefully, with donations to this Circle and to the SOS for asylum seekers Circle (121), with whom the Rapid Response Circle (110) partners, it will be possible to get through to the end of the financial year or further.

Longer term, the expectation that ordinary citizens will continue to step up and financially support asylum- seekers and refugees  who remain without a Visa determination or Centrelink income for as long as 10 years is clearly not sustainable. The refugees/asylum  seekers and all involved, including funded Agencies, other voluntary groups and more, want resolution and want it soon.Things cannot go on as they are. But, in the meantime, we face forward and hope.

Rapid Response Circle (110) Co-Convenor
