Invitation to Potluck Dinner

Join Circle of Hope (114) for a night of fun and feasting to raise funds for our refugee friends doing it tough with rents, life and education.

When: 6:30 – 9:30pm 13 September 2024
Where: Hope’s Cafe (280 Portrush Rd, Beulah Park SA 5067)
Cost: $50 and includes one drink.

The meal will be prepared by  Jon Teo, our brilliant chef from Singapore with the following delicious dishes to sample:
Entree: Watercress and spring garlic soup, with spring pea and mint crostini.

Choices of mains:

  • Braised kangaroo with glazed carrots and carrot top pesto
  • Roast chicken with spring garlic sauce and roasted gem
  • Spring vegetable bubble and squeak, mushroom ragout (v)

Bring cash to join in the raffle and the lucky/unlucky dip. Wine and beer will be for sale.

Clothes Swap Bridgewater 2024

Hosted by Circle 9 and the Bridgewater Uniting Community.

Have fun updating your wardrobe at this environmentally friendly event.

Entry fee: $5  with funds raised going towards the refugee support work of  Circle 9.

Clothes swap will be for women’s clothing sizes 8 – 14. Bring good quality clothing to swap and find something new take home this spring.

Afghan Feast 2024

Rumi Palace. It’s an evocative name – one that befits the exotic dishes perfected in its kitchen. This hidden gem invites you to share a true feast. Savour the rich aromas and flavours of Afghan and Persian-style cooking across a delicious selection of shared entrées and mains. Guests will have the opportunity to try a range of food sensations and embrace South Australia’s multicultural offerings.

Bring a special bottle to enjoy on the night – Rumi Palace doesn’t sell wine and will waive corkage fees for this special event.

This year, the event will also support refugees in South Australia, with a raffle on the night to assist – with all event funds raised going to Circle of Friends Australia Inc. You can also sponsor a refugee to attend if you’d like.

Not Bastille Day Petanque Fundraiser

Circle 108’s August fundraising  event to help support an Afghan mother and her 5 daughters.

A celebration of Liberte et Egalite. Join us for a day to remember – Mouth watering! Fun! All things French!!

  • play Petanque with help from the experts
  • catch up with friends or make new ones
  • buy a drink or two from the bar
  • enjoy the pre-dinner delights of cheese, olives, pâté, roast capsicum and biscuits.

Where:  Adelaide Petanque Club on the corner of Greenhill Road and Unley Road (Some parking available in the Hockey and Cricket club car park)

Dinner will ready at 6.30pm. Perhaps some leek and potato soup and baguette; quiche with green salad with French dressing; crepes with various toppings (ask for crepe in French!) and other desserts.

A Rose is a Rose: Soiree and High Tea Fundraiser

A Rose is a Rose …. Another fabulous fundraiser from Circle 108 in support of an Afghan widowed Mum and her five daughters. In an elegant and theatrical setting, relax and be enchanted by readings from the works of literary lesbians, from Sappho to a present-day Blak queer poet. A generous high tea is included in the price. Feel free to dress for this special occasion.

Circle 108 is raising money to support an Afghan mother and her five daughters. This Circle brought the Afghani family to Adelaide on a Community Support Visa. They receive no Government support for their first year hence the monthly fundraising efforts to cover their living costs.
